NHRTL-PAC Announces
2000 Primary Endorsements
The NHRTL Political Action Committee today announces endorsements
for selected state races. "A resurgence of genuine
pro-life candidates this
year reflects a renewed commitment of pro-life voters to get
involved and
compel changes," said NHRTL-PAC Chairman Ed Holdgate.
"Pro-life
voters perceive the difference between candidates who merely
articulate
a lukewarm pro-life message, and those who tenaciously defend
respect
for human life at every opportunity."
The NHRTL-PAC confidently endorses GORDON
HUMPHREY for
governor. "Gordon Humphrey blazed a pro-life trail
throughout New
Hampshire, and even into Washington, proving the intrinsically
successful
message of the genuine, principled, 100% pro-life position,"
said Holdgate.
"Humphrey maintains an earnest and focused pro-life agenda, sustained
by written commitments -- just the ticket needed to prevail over
the
ravenously pro-abortion pursuits of Gov. Jeanne Shaheen."
"Jeff Howard merely professes a pro-life attitude.
Despite some 20 years
in law and civil service, Howard cannot point to any pro-life
actions. Howard
cannot recall ever testifying on abortion related legislation,
ever getting
involved with a pro-life event or organization, ever helping
a Crisis Pregnancy
Center, ever delivering a pro-life speech, or ever even writing
a single pro-life
letter to the editor. Where's the "pro" in that kind
of hollow pro-life
profession?", asked Holdgate.
The NHRTL-PAC, using voting records, survey returns, news reports,
and
some interviews, endorses the following candidates because of their
pro-life
activism, commitment, and credentials:
EXECUTIVE COUNCIL:
Dist 2 HARRIET CADY
Dist 4 TOM COLANTUONO
Dist 5 DAVID WHEELER
NH SENATE:
Dist 3 CARL JOHNSON
Dist 4 ROBERT BOYCE
